Author: KigakoraI never drove a motor scooter prior to coming here slightly over one year ago. In fact my GF used to drive me around and Id tell her to slow down and was scared. I drive in all types of traffic now,car or my motor scooter. I was lucky, I knew to arrive with my International Driver's Lis.

Author: NishicageHey guys just to let you know that the IDP is only valid in Thailand for 3 months not for the full 12 months as the permit lasts. different countries have got different conditions for the IDP. Please check with local AAA company for up to date information. Hope this info helps you guys
Author: KagagorBTW, you can take your own passport photos (follow the guidelines listed on the U.S. State Department web site -- link below), and use the State Department photo tool (link below) to place and crop the photo to passport size. You can then save it to a USB memory stick, then take the USB stick to Walmart/Costco/wherever and print as many copies of the photo as you want for just a few bucks. You can save a few more bucks by using something like Passport Photo Studio software (Win/Mac, $8.95 USD) to create a two-per-page image to print two passport photos per printed photo page.
Author: KazranosFWIW, the IDP that AAA issues does not have a translation in Thai, so it won't help there unless the police can read one of the other languages it's printed in. I assume the AAA IDP is the same as what is issued by any other outlet (AAA is the only one I know of in the U.S.).
